Job Summary
Survey Crew Chief leads daily field crew operations to collect boundary, topographical, and construction stakeout survey data. Oversees and trains crew to operate total station, GPS, and data collectors; sets construction stakeout points; maintains instruments and equipment; provides clear field notes and sketches; supports field data processing and mapping; and works both in teams and independently. Requires high school diploma/GED with five years of field survey experience, valid driver's license, ability to travel, and outdoor work in all weather. Experience with Leica Robotic Total Stations, GPS, and data collectors is preferred; DOT surveying and AutoCAD experience are pluses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of field survey experience
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record required
- Must be willing to travel on occasion
- Must be able to carry up to 50 lb. of equipment over all types of terrain
- All-weather year-round outdoor work environment
- Experience with Leica Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors and GPS preferred
- Experience with DOT transportation surveying a plus
Desired Qualifications
- PLS/SI preferred but not required
- Experience with Leica Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors and GPS
- AutoCAD experience a plus
