Job Summary
Supervise a land survey crew for daily field operations gathering data for boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys. Determine the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition ranging from primary control through construction layout and as-built surveys. Read and interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and tolerances while communicating daily with project managers, engineers, and technicians regarding schedule and progress. Collect and interpret survey data, document accurate field notes, and prepare daily reports and time sheets. Maintain land surveying vehicles and field equipment while adhering to company safety procedures. Travel for extended periods in all-weather climates to support nationwide projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Competent operating total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCs
- Strong computer and technical skills
- Strong communication skills (listening, writing and verbal)
- Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude
- Ability to travel for extended periods
- Ability to work in all-weather climates
- Ability to walk long distances through a variety of terrains and carry up to 80lbs
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company MVR standards, clean background check and drug screening
