Survey Crew Chief

Lead and supervise a survey team in the field, assigning tasks and overseeing efficient, accurate data collection for projects including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction layout. Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, digital levels, and GPS receivers while conducting traverses and level loops to establish primary and secondary control. Research land records and legal documents to determine property boundaries, establish markers, and maintain accurate notes and sketches. Transfer field data to computer systems, perform quality control checks, and troubleshoot minor equipment repairs. Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand requirements, provide progress updates, and ensure the team adheres to safety protocols and driving habits. Maintain company trucks and equipment, staying current with surveying technology and best practices.
