Survey Crew Chief

Direct field survey crews by translating office instructions into accurate daily activities, assigning duties, and overseeing operations to meet job objectives and deadlines. Interpret established procedures to ensure proper accuracy requirements are followed, while operating equipment and verifying measurement tolerances and closures. Train new instrument operators through ongoing coaching, demonstrate proper surveying techniques, and reinforce standards. Review and organize field notes and electronic data to identify errors, resolve discrepancies in plans or conditions, and adjust methods based on terrain, access, or weather. Conduct all field surveys safely in varying climates by enforcing safety procedures, leading job-site briefings, monitoring traffic control, and ensuring PPE compliance. Requires 3-5 years of crew leadership experience, valid driver's license, and ability to coordinate workflow daily.
