Job Summary
Lead field team on surveying assignments including boundary, topographic, ALTA/ASCM land title, construction staking, terrestrial LiDAR and UAV/drone surveys; work under Licensed Professional Surveyors to support land surveying, civil engineering, architectural and environmental projects. Role includes coordinating with project teams and clients, ensuring safety practices, building client relationships, mentoring junior field staff, and operating advanced surveying tech (GPS, Robotic Total Stations, scanners, UAV) with data collection. Provides pathway to licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor; requires five years’ experience as a Survey Crew Member/Chief and progression toward LSIT/PLS licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ experience as a Survey Crew Member/Chief
- ability to become a licensed Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) and obtain future licensure as a New York Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
- prior experience as a crew chief
- proficiency with survey equipment (GPS, Robotic Total Stations, UAV, LiDAR)
- familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson and Inroads software
- valid driver’s license
- ability to work overtime
- physical ability to carry equipment and work outdoors in various conditions
