Job Summary
Survey Crew Chief leading field crews on transportation design survey projects in the Tampa, FL area. Responsibilities include coordinating horizontal/vertical control, boundary, topographic, tree and wetland surveys, as-built surveys, right-of-way location work, construction layout, and terrestrial LiDAR data collection using GPS and conventional instruments. Lead equipment setup, ensure crew readiness, train crew members, record field notes, and manage project workload with Field Crew Supervisor; travel up to 50% and work 50+ hours during peak periods. Requires 5 years of field survey experience, valid FL driver’s license, and ability to work without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional land survey field experience with demonstrated ability to lead crews independently
- Valid Florida driver's license with an approved and acceptable driving history required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; specialized training from a vocational or technical school in surveying or a related field preferred
- Basic math and calculator proficiency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship
