Job Summary
Conduct land surveying fieldwork including control, boundary, topographic, DOT, and construction layout projects. Supervise a two- or three-person crew while performing field calculations, operating survey equipment, and maintaining vehicles. Collect data per specifications, manage daily data collector uploads and downloads, and coordinate with field and office managers. Execute office duties such as data reduction, computations, and staking using specialized software. Maintain accurate field notes and sketches while adhering to safety procedures. This role may require out-of-town travel.
Required Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- 35+ years of experience in surveying as a Crew Chief
- Experience with GPS
- Experience with Robotic total stations
- Experience with data collectors
- Ability to perform tasks and solve problems independently
- Willing and able to continually learn new techniques, processes, and equipment operation
- This position may require out-of-town work
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in a survey program or equivalent
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Knowledge of MicroStation
- Knowledge of Inroads
- Knowledge of Open Roads Designer
- Knowledge of Trimble Business Center Software
- Scanning and drone flight experience
- FAA Part 107 license
