Survey Construction Inspector III

Job Summary
Conduct construction layout and verification on active roadway and bridge projects, performing field tests and measuring quantities to ensure contractor compliance. Prepare detailed daily reports, timesheets, and expense documentation while maintaining accurate field notes and data files. Review work for completeness before submission and resolve site problems at the lowest level by communicating with clients, contractors, and supervisors. Perform daily safety inspections to address OSHA standards and industry requirements, working independently on less complex activities or assisting on complex assignments. Requires valid driver's license, ability to work varied schedules including night shifts, and adherence to all applicable safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working in a construction related field
- Highschool/GED
- Ability to understand construction plans, specifications, and procedures
- Demonstrate basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry
- Possess the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently
- Work effectively as a team member
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to pass and maintain required certifications
- Must be physically capable of performing field inspections
- Willing to work in various weather conditions
- Willing to work night shifts
- Willing to work varied work schedules
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position
