Job Summary
Survey CAD Designer responsible for preparing detailed survey drawings, base maps, and design plans using CAD software; collaborates with survey crews, engineers, and project managers to convert field data into accurate digital drawings for land development, transportation, and infrastructure projects; develops alignments, surfaces, profiles, and cross sections, maintains drawing standards and file organization, coordinates with field crews to verify data accuracy, and prepares final deliverables such as plats, exhibits, and construction documents with quality control checks.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–7+ years of experience in surveying or civil design drafting
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
- Experience processing survey data and creating surfaces, contours, and linework
- Understanding of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction layout
- Ability to interpret field notes, sketches, and engineering plans
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
