Job Summary
Prepare maps, sketches, and legal descriptions to convey right of way, easements, and agreements while adhering to Department policies. Collect and process field survey data, plats, and recorded documents to produce complete databases for design and mapping purposes. Utilize Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) applications to create maps, perform calculations, and analyze data against established standards. Review consultant submittals for conformity to guidelines and assist in training staff on surveying and mapping activities. Respond to emergencies as required due to the nature of the position. Full-time employment at the Surveying and Mapping Office in DeLand, FL.
Required Qualifications
- United States (U.S.) citizens or lawfully authorized alien workers
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Three years' experience in a Surveying and/or Mapping production environment
- Knowledge of Advanced surveying mathematics
- Knowledge of Advanced mathematical principles
- Knowledge of Principles, laws, and regulations governing surveying and mapping
- Knowledge of Department policies, handbooks, and procedures
- Knowledge of the principles, laws, and regulations governing title and real estate transactions
- Knowledge of Standard research methods and resources
- Skills in Personal computers and related applications
- Skills in Use CADD applications
- Skills in Oral and written communication
- Ability to Prepare and maintain reports, records, files, and correspondence
- Ability to Plan, organize, coordinate, and perform multiple assignments
- Ability to Read legal descriptions, maps, plats, and plans
- Ability to Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Must respond to emergencies
- Must provide Social Security Number to conduct required verifications
- Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962 must be registered with the Selective Service System (SSS) before their 26th birthday or have a Letter of Registration Exemption from the SSS
