Job Summary
Surveillance Technician responsible for monitoring Building Automation Systems (BAS) 24/7, assisting with facility communications, and maintaining detailed shift log documentation. Responsibilities include reviewing animal room temperature and humidity bi-hourly, conducting hourly rotating building walks, maintaining suite pressure logs, and reporting any deficiencies. Respond to alarms and equipment failures per alarm messages, coordinating with end users, on-call personnel, the security office, 911 operators, or supervisory staff. Maintain mandatory training requirements and relocate refrigeration equipment during after-hours equipment failures. Primary duties involve maintaining hardware/software for BAS, diagnosing issues with HVAC/related equipment, programming control sequences/alarms, and ensuring BAS activity logs are kept. Qualifications include High School Diploma, 1+ year CMMS experience; preferred certifications or technical trade school. Knowledge of BAS, HVAC systems, control theory, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. Familiarity with Building Management System operations, data logging, and compliance with safety/regulatory requirements. Working conditions include lifting up to 50 lbs, physical maneuvers, and potential exposure to environmental factors; the role includes no travel and a fixed on-site location.
