Job Summary

Monitor customer and employee gaming activities by observing, reporting, recording, and correcting situations that could cause injury or loss. Maintain physical presence at the console to perform basic surveillance and administrative duties as required by staffing levels. Assist the Surveillance Director with daily operations, including the development, implementation, and enforcement of departmental procedures and policies. Enforce applicable rules and laws through direct compliance and report violations to appropriate authorities. Work variable shifts, including splits, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with availability for emergency call-ins. Maintain proper uniform, friendly demeanor, and confidentiality while interacting with the public and tribal enterprises.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Good physical condition
  • Familiarity with blackjack and all poker game procedures
  • CCTV video equipment and nomenclature training
  • Requirements to qualify for a Bishop Gaming License
  • Pass an extensive background security check
  • No felony convictions
  • No serious misdemeanor convictions within the past 10 years
  • No records of criminal convictions of any kind in the past five years other than traffic violations
  • Ability to maintain department standards by performing corrective disciplinary action on department employees as per company policy in a timely manner when department policy infractions occur
  • Ability to inform and communicate orally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations
  • Ability to process information effectively
  • Ability to learn new materials
  • Ability to identify and define problems
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Knowledge of standard and accepted Surveillance department methods and procedures
  • Ability to interact with the public, fellow employees, tribal enterprises, county and state agencies demonstrating respect, tact, courtesy, objectivity, and maturity
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters
  • Driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Driver's certification
  • Home telephone for immediate contact
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift including splits, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be available for call-ins on an emergency basis
  • Must be knowledgeable of all Bishop Gaming Enterprise Gaming policies and internal procedures
  • Must always be in proper uniform
  • Must be friendly and courteous
  • Must be able to pass a drug test prior to employment and periodically thereafter
  • Must complete Surveillance training

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience and training in surveillance/security and clerical
  • A demonstrated ability in the operation and performance of surveillance equipment
  • Previous work experience
