Job Summary

Operate a closed-circuit television system to monitor gaming, non-gaming, and money handling activity while detecting and preventing fraud, theft, and criminal activity. Save video and pictures of irregular activity, make accurate log entries, and write detailed reports as needed. Maintain proficiency in all policies and procedures, conduct audits and checklists, and ensure proper function of all surveillance equipment including monitors, computers, and cameras. Brief oncoming shifts regarding previous or ongoing incidents and keep supervisors informed of pertinent information. Work any shift, including holidays and overtime, to fill in when the department is shorthanded. Complete all assigned training and testing on time and maintain a professional appearance reflecting credit on Downstream Casino Resort.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older upon employment
  • High school diploma or its equivalency
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to write routine correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers
  • Ability to deal effectively and interact well with fellow employees
  • Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must maintain a professional appearance
  • Must act in a professional manner
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke
  • Must be able to tolerate high noise levels
  • Must be able to tolerate bright lights
  • Must be able to tolerate dust
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to observe and recall specific details of incidents and persons
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate monitors, computers, controllers, and cameras
  • Must have excellent vision including peripheral vision
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist and grip items when necessary
  • Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • Must be available to work any shift
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Must be able to work a different shift
  • Must complete the new hire training program, including gaming areas, within one year of being hired
  • Must comply with all casino's internal controls
  • Must participate in the Surveillance training program
