Job Summary
Lead Security Intelligence and Surveillance Operations at the Sydney Opera House, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the surveillance function. Monitor security systems, manage incident detection, intelligence gathering, and response coordination across the precinct while enhancing situational awareness. Lead a team of surveillance professionals within a technology-enabled environment, driving operational excellence and ensuring a proactive, intelligence-led security capability. Report to the Head of Security and Emergency Preparedness & Response.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a surveillance, security operations centre, control room or intelligence environment
- Strong understanding of CCTV systems, video management platforms, access control and integrated security technologies
- Experience managing complex incidents, investigations and risk-based decision-making
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and report-writing skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Experience developing procedures, standards and operational governance frameworks
- Existing Australian work rights
- Satisfactory National Police Check
- Pre-Employment Health Assessment
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or higher qualification in Security Risk Management, Intelligence, Emergency Management or related discipline
- Security Industry Licence (NSW) or ability to obtain
- Experience within critical infrastructure, major venues, government, law enforcement or public-facing environments
- Knowledge of intelligence-led security practices and emerging surveillance technologies
