Job Summary
Delivers course material in accordance with the college curriculum, maintains program standards and accreditation compliance, and participates in program improvement activities. Engages in student services such as orientation, advisement, tutoring, and career services events; mentors new faculty; coordinates with interdepartmental teams to ensure learner support; ensures equipment and book lists align with standards; acts as substitute instructor when needed; collaborates with industry councils and faculty to support program needs; maintains professionalism and accountability, and upholds essential competencies including instructional skills, content knowledge, dependability, and student achievement focus.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent
- Graduate of an ST educational program accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
- Current National Surgical Technology certification (CST) or CSFA
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- Must possess CST or CSFA
- Minimum 2 years' experience in OR scrub role or as an instructor in ST within the past 5 years
- Ability to read/write/speak basic English; communicate effectively
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Physical ability to perform job duties as described
- Arrest/conviction background check may be required as part of standard hiring process
