Job Summary
Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures by preparing the operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensuring equipment/instrument readiness; assisting with patient transport, positioning, and draping; passing instruments to the physician during surgery; maintaining instrument/inventory accountability; and handling specimens for laboratory delivery. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED or Military trained
- Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- Minimum Experience: 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- BLS/CPR card good through sixty days of hire
