Job Summary
Prepare the surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, and supplies. Ensure equipment and instruments function properly, then assist with patient preparation, transport, positioning, and draping. Pass instruments to the physician during surgery while continuously accounting for all items. Receive and process specimens for laboratory delivery. Perform these duties with critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment. This role supports safe and efficient surgical procedures at UCHealth Anschutz Pavilion in Aurora, CO, within the OR Operating Room AIP department.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or Military trained
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
