Job Summary
Prepare the surgical operating suite with drapes, instruments, and supplies, ensuring all equipment functions correctly. Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and draping while passing instruments to the physician and continuously accounting for inventory. Receive and process specimens for laboratory delivery. Perform these duties with critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. This onsite role at UCHealth UCHlth Eastview Medical Center in Colorado Springs requires a Surgical Technologist with relevant experience and current BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or Military trained
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
- 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
