Job Summary
Prepare the surgical operating suite with drapes, instruments, and supplies. Ensure equipment functionality, assist with patient positioning and draping, and pass instruments to the physician while accounting for all items. Process specimens for laboratory delivery. Maintain critical thinking and decisive judgment to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Requires state Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration, BLS certification, and six months of relevant experience. Full-time onsite role at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or Military trained
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
