Job Summary
Surgical Technologist role assisting surgeons in the operating room by preparing sterile instruments and supplies, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting patient safety. Responsibilities include opening sterile sets, gowning/gloving the team, passing instruments, aiding with suction, sponge counts, preparing drains and dressings, coordinating with the circulator, and adhering to Universal Protocol and HIPAA/privacy standards. Requires EMR proficiency, medical terminology knowledge, precision, ability to work in a multidisciplinary hospital team, and willingness to participate in on-call rotations. Cam be expected to support ongoing procedures and contribute to post-operative documentation and room turnover; on-site scheduling includes 32 hours/week with variable shifts and a sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited Surgical Technologist program required
- Surgical Technologist certification preferred
- BLS certification is required upon hire
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital environment is preferred
- Must possess a cell phone that interfaces with the organization’s secure message system
