Surgical Technologist

Job Summary
Surgical Technologists assist in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care that meets quality care standards for patients undergoing surgical procedures. They work under the supervision and delegation of a surgeon and other licensed professionals to ensure a safe operating room environment, maintain sterile technique and a ready supply of properly prepared instruments, verify item completeness, and participate in patient preparation and case setup to support safe, efficient surgical care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology or graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required
- Experience in an operating room setting is preferred
- National certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within first 60 days of employment
