Job Summary
Perform scrub activities and assist with patient care for patients of varying ages in the operating room setting under direct training of a registered nurse. Monitor instrument, sharps, and sponge counts while maintaining technical competence within the scope of practice. Requires one year of recent operating room experience, current Surgical Technologist certification, and Basic Life Support certification. Possesses effective oral communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend English to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of recent Operating Room experience
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program of study
- Possesses effective oral communication skills
- Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Surgical Technologist
- Skill and ability to concentrate and monitor instrument, sharps, and sponge counts
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions
