Surgical Technologist Orthopedic Surgery Evenings - LOH

Scrub on all orthopedic surgical procedures in the Operating Room under the direction of a licensed professional nurse and assist the physician in procedural areas. Anticipate and gather needed supplies and equipment based on procedure preference cards, escalating outstanding needs with the RN Circulator. Ensure specimens are appropriately identified and labeled in collaboration with the Registered nurse, while reporting unexpected events and outcomes to RN staff and leadership regarding counts, specimens, or aseptic technique breaches. Provide on-call coverage proficiently and participate in quality improvement programs, data collection, and unit metrics such as turnover times and patient satisfaction. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, give thorough reports to the relief scrub person, and guide staff and students to use clinical resources. Maintain certification and fulfill annual mandatory education program requirements.
