Job Summary
Participates as a member of the Perioperative team by performing direct and indirect Perioperative tasks for patients having surgical procedures. Performs delegated patient care activities while ensuring patient safety. Maintains and communicates age-specific plan of care, assists with turnover and room setup, ensures sterile technique and asepsis, and assists surgeon with procedures as licensed personnel. Responsible for instrument processing, sterilization, and ensuring adherence to infection control standards in the operating room; collaborates with the team to provide safe patient care during surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion from a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologist
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from NBSTSA
- Must be in good standing with NYS regulations
- BLS certification preferred
