Job Summary
Assist within the sterile operative field during surgery by maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring all necessary surgical instruments and supplies are available. Demonstrate skill in sterile technique, surgical instruments, and procedures while fostering collaborative relationships with the surgical team. Responsible for preparing for assigned cases, maintaining safety and efficiency in the operating room, and providing quality care based on nursing research and improvement monitoring.
Required Qualifications
- National Surgical Technology certification or credentialed/grandfathered by NYS per 1/21/15 DOH regulation (2824).
- OR NYS Licensed Practical Nurse Degree.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a surgical scrub tech preferred.
