Job Summary
The role involves assisting the surgeon and first assistant during surgery within a sterile operative field, ensuring a sterile environment and ready availability of surgical instruments. Responsibilities include preparing for surgical cases, ensuring safety and efficiency in the operating room, and providing quality care based on nursing research. Required qualifications include a NYS Licensed Practical Nurse Degree or National Surgical Technology certification.

Desired Qualifications
- National Surgical Technology certification or credentialed/grandfathered by NYS per 1/21/15 DOH regulation (2824)
- Previous experience as a surgical scrub tech preferred
