Surgical Technologist OR- Ambulatory Surgical Center Brooklyn experience required

Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician in procedural areas under the direction of a licensed professional nurse. Anticipate and gather needed supplies and equipment prior to care, escalate outstanding needs with the RN Circulator, and perform secondary circulator duties under supervision. Ensure specimens are appropriately identified and labeled in collaboration with the Registered nurse. Report unexpected events, outcomes, counts, specimen issues, and breaks in aseptic techniques to RN staff and leadership in a timely fashion. Provide on-call coverage proficiently and participate in clinical preceptor programs to guide staff and students. Maintain knowledge of instrument care, equipment maintenance, and adherence to JCAHO, DOH, CARF, AST standards. Contribute to quality improvement programs, data collection, and unit metrics including turnover times and patient satisfaction.
