Surgical Technologist OR- Ambulatory Surgery Center Brooklyn

Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician in procedural areas under the direction of a licensed professional nurse. Anticipate and gather needed supplies and equipment based on procedure preference cards, then escalate outstanding needs with the RN Circulator. Report unexpected events, outcomes, counts, specimen issues, and breaks in aseptic techniques to RN staff and leadership promptly. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure specimens are appropriately identified and labeled while contributing to quality improvement programs, data collection, and patient satisfaction initiatives. Provide on-call coverage as applicable and participate in the orientation of new staff to the scrub role intraoperatively. Maintain certification and fulfill annual mandatory education requirements.
