Surgical Technologist, Operating Room (Ground Floor)

Job Summary
Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and quality care. Provide technical assistance and support to medical and surgical staff during and in the turnover of surgical procedures. Specialize in multiple surgical service lines, working with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Maintain American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification and hold a high school diploma or accredited surgical technology program graduation. Requires one year of experience or three years of full-time operating room employment within the last seven years. Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or TS-C is preferred. Schedule runs 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM with weekend and on-call requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education
- Must hold American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
- Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and working as a Surgical Technologist with one (1) year of experience
- Three (3) years of full-time employment within the last seven (7) years in an Operating Room setting working as a Surgical Technologist
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Technologist in Surgery- Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
