Job Summary
Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining sterile fields, retracting instruments, and passing supplies to surgeons. Accurately check required equipment prior to procedures, assemble operative instrumentation, and perform sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse. Transport patients according to unit schedules, complete assigned case data, and perform housekeeping duties as requested. Requires accredited surgical technology program, Surgery Technician certification, and CPR/BLS certification. This role is represented by OFNHP at Adventist Health Columbia Gorge in The Dalles, Oregon.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited surgical technology program
- Surgery Technician certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR
- Receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- Accessed and read the E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices and understand the contents therein
Desired Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Scrub technician experience
- Operating room experience and/or training course
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
