Job Summary
Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, and supplying medications to surgeons. Accurately check required supplies and equipment, assemble operative instrumentation, and set up sterile fields demonstrating careful aseptic technique. Collect data on assigned cases based on Performance Standards of Care, complete instrument and sponge counts with the Registered Nurse, and clean equipment and facilities. Transport patients according to unit schedules and perform requested housekeeping and clerical duties. Requires accredited surgical technology program, OR experience, and CPR/BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited surgical technology program
- Operating room experience and/or training course
- Surgery Technician certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Facility Specific License/Certifications
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- Access to and understanding of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
