Job Summary
Surgical Technologist provides intraoperative support under the surgeon’s direction, including scrubbing, gowning, glove handling, maintaining a sterile field, assisting with patient positioning and prepping, and aiding in instrumentation, suctioning, sponging, drains placement, specimen handling, and wound dressings. Requires completion of an approved Surgical Technician program, CAAHEP/ABHES certification, and at least 1 year of scrubbing experience; orthopedic experience preferred. Must read, speak, and understand English; knowledgeable in surgical anatomy and aseptic technique; maintains BLS certification. Emphasizes adherence to center policies, infection control, and participation in quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Surgical Technician Program
- Certification from an accredited CAAHEP or ABHES program
- At least 1 year of Surgical Technician scrubbing experience
- English proficiency; able to read, speak, and understand English
- Familiar with anatomy and physiology; understands aseptic principles; maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
