Surgical Technologist, Main OR Surgery

Conduct "scrub" technologist duties for scheduled surgeries in the Main Operating Room, assisting with draping, instrument utilization, and sterile technique. Set rooms for routine procedures in 15 minutes or complicated cases in 30 minutes, while checking equipment, counting instruments, and maintaining clean mayo and back tables. Manage floor stock medications, track sponges and needles, and relay accurate specimen identification. Provide hemostasis using cautery and direct pressure, expose operative sites with retractors, and suture tissue as directed by the surgeon. Maintain safe environments by recognizing breaks in sterile technique, preventing instrument loss, and following universal blood precautions.
