Job Summary
Assist nursing staff in support services for safe and efficient patient care across surgical areas. Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team with precision while preparing and equipping surgical suites. Participate as a Core Technician maintaining sterile technique and providing requested supplies and instruments. Assist in non-surgical patient interventions under direct physician or RN supervision. Maintain basic patient care skills, medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency with electronic systems. Adapt to fast-paced environments and prioritize multiple assignments while upholding Legacy's mission to improve lives through collaborative healthcare.
Required Qualifications
- American Heart Association approved BLS certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification with the State of Oregon
- Registration as a Registered Surgical Technologist (RST) with the State of Washington
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year Surgical Technologist experience
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Completion of a military training program for surgical technologists
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 out of last 3 years as Surgical Technologist
- Basic level patient care skills
- Basic medical terminology
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions
- Ability to understand and apply principles of sterile technique and surgical procedures within the scope of the position
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize multiple assignments
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to a changing environment and circumstances
