Job Summary
Surgical Technologist role supporting Labor and Delivery: assist in perioperative procedures under surgeon and RN supervision, maintain strict sterile technique, assemble and open sterile packs, drape the sterile field, pass instruments to the surgeon and assistant, verify and manage instrument counts, and ensure proper room setup and turnover. Requires BLS and Surgical Technologist certification (TS-C or CST) or equivalent military program; graduate of CAAHEP/ABHES-accredited program or related route. Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM with emphasis on quality perioperative patient care, aseptic technique, and collaboration with the OR team. Proficiency in maintaining sterile field, specimen collection/documentation, and adherence to universal precautions and biohazard handling is essential; prior OR experience in a multispecialty acute care hospital is preferred. The role offers hands-on learning opportunities with potential advancement within Cleveland Clinic system.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through the CAAHEP or ABHES OR completion of a military surgical technology program OR certification as a Surgical Technologist (acceptable certifications for this route are TS-C or CST)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
