Job Summary
Prepare surgical operating suites with drapes, instruments, and supplies; ensure equipment functionality; assist with patient positioning and draping; pass instruments to the physician; and account for all instruments and supplies during procedures. Receive and process specimens for laboratory delivery. This role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Candidates must possess relevant experience or program graduation and hold current BLS/CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or Military trained
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
- 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
