Surgical Technologist-K5 OR-Evening Shift (37.5 Hours)

Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician in procedural areas under the direction of a licensed professional nurse. Anticipate and gather needed supplies and equipment prior to care based on procedure preference cards, escalating outstanding needs with the RN Circulator. Ensure specimens are appropriately identified and labeled in collaboration with the Registered nurse. Report unexpected events, including counts, specimens, and breaks in aseptic techniques, to RN staff and leadership in a timely fashion. Provide on-call coverage proficiently where applicable. Contribute to quality and performance improvement programs by collecting metrics on turnover times, on-time starts, and time out protocols. Participate in the orientation of new and current staff to the scrub role intraoperatively and guide students to use clinical resources. Obtain and maintain Surgical Technologist certification and fulfill annual mandatory education program requirements.
