Job Summary
Prepare operating rooms for orthopedic, neurosurgical, and pain management procedures by ensuring instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functioning. Assist surgeons and RNs during operative procedures by anticipating needs, maintaining the sterile field, and handling surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies as directed. Perform surgical counts with circulating staff, set up and troubleshoot specialized equipment such as drills and microscopes, and ensure proper care and cleaning of instruments post-procedure. Uphold infection control policies while collaborating with the surgical team to maintain smooth workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of surgical technologist experience
- Ambulatory surgery center experience
- Orthopedic, spine, pain management, or interventional procedure experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment
