Job Summary
Surgical Technologist III (CST) on the Neuro Team supports neuro surgery by preparing the operating room for cases, instrumenting procedures, and maintaining the sterile field under the supervision of the circulating nurse. Responsibilities include assisting in assessing patient needs with the circulating nurse, setting up rooms, securing safe patient transport, confirming the surgical site, preparing pre-operative sites and instruments, turning the room around, and adhering to MercyOne North Iowa Standards of Care and AORN Standards. The role requires maintaining knowledge of surgical specialties, assisting with case setup and instrument handling, and participating in room turnover while meeting unit productivity expectations. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits; day shift with call requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a surgical technologist program or graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience
- Certification as a surgical technologist required
- LPN license required if graduate of LPN program
- Must have at least 2 years of experience functioning as a Surgical Tech
- Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider)
- Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training
- Hours: Day Shift; 8-hour shifts; call 10-12 days per month; call response time 30 minutes
