Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist II provides first and second scrub duties and table setup for surgical procedures under the supervision of the RN, ensuring asepsis by maintaining sterile equipment and preparing supplies. Responsibilities include observing patient health changes and updating care plans in collaboration with the circulating nurse, performing basic scrub duties, arranging sterile table setups, gathering supplies, verifying health data for patient records, and performing additional duties as assigned. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from ARC/STSA-accredited surgical technology program (or equivalent military training), 1 year of surgical tech experience, BLS/CPR certification, and CST credential (or waiver per policy).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Surgical Technology accredited through ARC/STSA or equivalent military training with surgical tech experience
- 1 year surgical tech experience
- BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Surgical Technologists hired prior to 12/31/2017 will have the certification requirement waived. If CST credential held on 12/31/17, credential must be maintained without lapse.
