Job Summary
Perform first scrub role independently in multiple service lines, scrubbing core and specialty procedures while reacting professionally to unexpected changes. Apply and enforce sterile technique throughout the surgical procedure, maintain sharp safety, ensure medication safety on the field, and demonstrate competence in surgical counts. Precept other staff in the scrub role and anticipate surgeon requests. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Full-time onsite role at UCHA Eye Surgery Center in Aurora, CO.
Required Qualifications
- Surgical Tech
- Surgical Assistant
- Certified Surgical Tech
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- Associates Degree
- Military trained
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration (DORA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- BLS through the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- BLS or CPR card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card good through sixty days of hire
