Job Summary
Perform first scrub role independently in multiple service lines, scrubbing core and specialty procedures while anticipating surgeon requests and enforcing sterile technique. React professionally to unexpected changes and work with minimal supervision using critical thinking and decisive judgment. Precept other staff in the scrub role and collaborate with service specialists to improve surgeon preference cards. Requires CST certification, two years of experience, and BLS certification. Full-time, 80-hour days at UCHealth UCHlth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion in Aurora, CO.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program or Associates Degree or Military trained
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration (DORA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- 2 years of Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) experience
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
