Job Summary
Perform first scrub role independently across multiple service lines, scrubbing core and specialty procedures while anticipating surgeon requests. Apply and enforce sterile technique principles throughout the surgical procedure, maintain sharp safety, and ensure medication safety on the field. React professionally to unexpected changes and precept other staff in the scrub role. Utilize critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program or Associates Degree or Military trained
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration (DORA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- 2 years of Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) experience
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
