Job Summary
Per diem Surgical Technologist I for Labor and Delivery: assist surgeons, nurses, and the surgical team; set up sterile supplies and equipment; transport and position patients; pass instruments during procedures; maintain sterility; document counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments; collaborate with the surgical team; assist in preparing the surgical site with sterile drapes and solutions; secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed; contribute to patient safety and efficient operating room operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) NBSTSA preferred
- 2 years of labor and delivery experience preferred
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques
- Familiarity with surgical equipment used in the operating room
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations during surgeries
- Understanding of infection control protocols and patient safety measures
