Job Summary
Position: Surgical Technologist I - Labor and Delivery. Under supervision, assists in operating room operations including setting up the OR, preparing and transporting patients, passing instruments, holding retractors, suturing, counting instruments, and ensuring sterile technique. Participates in time-out procedures, secures extra supplies, prepares patients for surgery (positioning and sterile draping), and maintains OR conditions as part of the Patient Care Team. Requirements include HS diploma/equivalent; CSFA/CST preferred; 2-4 years of surgical technologist experience in acute care; knowledge of SPD sterile room; ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Schedule is 32 hours per week on nights (11pm-7:30am), with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Location: Newton-Wellesley Hospital, 2014 Washington Street, Newton, MA, USA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) - NBSTSA preferred
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - NBSTSA preferred
- 2-3 years in acute care setting (required)
- 4 years in acute care setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environment
