Job Summary
Manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures to ensure patient safety and support medical staff throughout operations and turnover. Provide technical assistance across multiple service lines, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Requires a high school diploma, accredited surgical technology program graduation, and two years of OR experience as a Surgical Technologist, or five years of recent full-time OR employment. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) credential is mandatory. Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or TS-C is preferred. Schedule includes 7A-7P hours with weekend requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education
- Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) credential
- Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and working as a Surgical Technologist with two (2) years of experience
- Five (5) years of full-time employment within the last seven (7) years in an Operating Room setting working as a Surgical Technologist
- Weekend Requirements: Yes
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Technologist in Surgery- Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
