Job Summary
Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures while maintaining sterile technique and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards. Assist surgeons and the surgical team throughout operative procedures, verifying that all equipment functions properly and anticipating their needs. Identify significant patient conditions or reactions and communicate concerns to the appropriate care team to support safe and effective surgical care. Follow department policies, safety standards, and established surgical procedures to support efficient operating room workflow and turnover. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Surgical Technology program with eligibility to sit for certification
- Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technologist/Technician experience if a Surgical Technology program has not been completed
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Completion of a Surgical Technology program and Surgical Technologist certification with at least 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience
- Minimum of 5 years of Surgical Technologist experience without certification
