Job Summary
Surgical Technologist ensuring sterile field and supporting the surgeon during operative procedures. Responsibilities include handling instruments and equipment, passing instruments to the surgeon, preparing the sterile table and supplies, verifying consent and patient setup, maintaining sterile technique, counting supplies with the circulator, and assisting with room turnover. Requires an Associate Degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology and BLS/CPR where applicable; certification from the National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists preferred. Vaccinations are required where applicable; role located in Petaluma, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology: Required
- National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certified: Preferred
- CPR or BLS certification: Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
- Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms and brings patient to assigned operating room
- Passes instruments to surgeon during procedure
- Prepares sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions
- Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
- Assists in prepping room for the next patient
- Vaccinations as a condition of employment
