Job Summary
Prepare the operating room for upcoming surgeries, sterilize equipment, and stock necessary supplies. Assist surgeons and advanced practice nurses by preparing patients for procedures and hand instruments upon request. Order and take inventory of supplies while maintaining files and records of procedures. This role requires graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Training Program or Licensed Practical Nurse status with scrub experience, plus BCLS and Surgical Technologist Certification. Candidates must possess strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and knowledge of medical terminology. Required Qualifications
- Graduation of an approved Surgical Technology Training Program
- Licensed Practical Nurse with previous scrub experience
- BCLS
- Surgical Technologist Certification (C.S.T. / N.C.T.)
- Proven work experience as a Surgical Technician or similar role
- Experience with instrumentation in the operating room
- Strong understanding of surgical technology and surgical procedure
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- A graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program and Surgical Technician certification
- Must be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella
- Must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption
