Job Summary
Conduct scrub and circulating duties during interventional procedures while maintaining sterile technique and assisting physicians with fluoroscopy. Prepare procedure rooms, stock trays with supplies and equipment, and perform post-procedure cleaning and instrument sterilization. Administer medications within scope, position patients, transport them between rooms, and manage patient transfers. Maintain environmental integrity by inspecting daily equipment, ensuring safety, and documenting issues in communication logs. Support quality standards through Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives, regulatory survey participation, and accurate medical record maintenance. Process and archive x-ray images, assist with training new staff, and manage inventory to prevent wastage. Occasionally perform minor equipment repairs and process patient images.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Surgical Technologist Certification
- 1 - 2 years' related experience
- Previous patient care experience
- Working knowledge of interventional equipment (including C-Arm and Ultrasound equipment), procedures and materials/supplies needed for each procedure
- Knowledge of sterile techniques
- Experience with special procedures utilizing a C-Arm
- Knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective devices to be utilized when operating radiology systems
- Successfully complete BLS certification
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand in a protective apron for up to 45-60 minutes
- Significant travel (up to 50%) within the assigned geography/region may be necessary
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required
